As many do, we came in as fans of the TK show. Unfortunately, he did not happen to be there Sunday afternoon.
It's a very cozy place in an interesting neighborhood. Feels like a neighborhood joint. Very welcoming greeting from the host when we entered.
We had a club sandwich and a wedge salad. Salad was very good and club was good - would have liked a little more lettuce. Had fries with the sandwich, they were hot and fresh, but could have been cooked a bit longer.
After the meal, the very nice server (who interacted with our children the whole way through) told us about the 'Wednesday kids eat free' deal. We said we were in from out of town - yes, TK fans, yes. Would you like to see the studio? Yes! So she took us in there and showed us where everyone sits. Gave my daughter some St. Paddy's day swag from the previous weekend and La Cheeserie wrist bands. I bought a shirt.
Food was 3 stars (solidly average), but atmosphere and friendlies takes it up to 4. We would love to go back for the TK show some time. Happy to support his restaurant and the show.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Trinh T.Silver Spring, MD19297262Jan 10, 2019
This place has a very homey feel. As soon as we walked in we were both immediately greeted by the bartender and host. As soon as we were seated our waitress came to introduce herself. The customer service here is great! The waitress helped reccomend a drink for me and even suggest a great modification knowing I prefer my drinks sweet.
We ordered the french gin drink w. Elder flower liquor w/ a splash of simple syrup. I highly reccomend this drink! I also ordered the chatter burger w/ tots. It was cooked perfectly. No complaints deffinitely will come back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 28, 2017
Service was super nice, and I was happy to sit away from the TV screens at the bar. I could forgive the strong smell of wood varnish had the food been better. Portions are fine and pricing is actually very reasonable for the area, but Chad's was less bland than this. My waffles were grateful for the syrup, and my chicken strips were fried crispy without particular flavors. The biscuits and gravy here are healthier than Osman's, but it otherwise barely fills the narrow niche for me between that and CG's more upscale fare in this neighborhood.

Wow. Had a great time at Chatter for breakfast. Never thought I'd be so lucky to meet the Great Tony Kornheiser. I've met many of my childhood idols, and they can disappoint, but Tony was great. The weather was overcast and dreary but fits my view of perfect DC weather.
Luckily I heard about Chatter and was in DC so I could try it out. The breakfast menu is limited, wish they'd throw some pancakes on there. However, what they serve they do well. I had smoked salmon and poached eggs without the bread or potatoes. Others had omelettes with potatoes. There were huge portions for a reasonable price. The waitress was very nice and attentive even though it was a little busy.
I 100% recommend if you're a Tony Kornheiser fan and for a unique experience. I'd love to come back for brunch or dinner sometime.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 23, 2019
Let me first say,I was really hungry after a 4 hrs car ride to DC. I really wanted to like this cool restaurant and bar..... So we sat down and the table cloth was dirty,my daughter is as grossed out as me usually but I told her whatever!!! I folded the table cloth so she didn't have to touch it. We started with the mushroom arugula flatbread that was delicious with of course arugula, ricotta cheese ,mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese. My son and husband ordered good daily special Richards chicken piccata that they said was good my husband got a side of broccoli that was sauteed in garlic was delicious I tasted it, my daughter had the cheddar burger and I had the turkey burger with just cheese and mushrooms. I get my burger and tasted it with my fork and it was sour!!! With hot peppers... maybe to try and hide the sour taste. Grossed out wasn't a good word! When you eat sour turkey you basically can't get the taste out of your mouth and want to puke! The waitress called over the manager and he said I'll take it back and off your bill. I thanked him and he said he had to get me an other meal anything.....well they had a turkey wrap on special being I felt pressured and nauseous at this point.I asked for the turkey and wrap without bacon get the turkey wrap it was disgusting and it had bacon ugh ...I am very greatful I didn't get sick. We all loved the flatbread so maybe stick to that and drinks.

My burger and sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly and tasted great, service at the bar was very good. All of the food our party ordered looked great and no one had any complaints.
Both bathrooms I used were clean.
One suggestion - iced tea is borderline. I believe it's either not fresh or brewed too long, but was bordering on bitter.
Other than that, I look forward to going back and trying other food on the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rick D.Winter Garden, FL132231Mar 27, 2019
Try The Veal, It's The Best In The City
Okay Yelp, Stop it. It's a sports bar, lots of TV's, great food, a podcast studio. It's in a unique space with lots of character, the help is accommodating and pleasant to deal with. Just go there, have a sandwich and buy a tee shirt, have a beer and quit bitchin. I made the trip from Orlando, had a very tasty omelette and I didn't order the Thursday special on a Wednesday. It's not that hard.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Liza C.Washington D.C., DC268153127Jan 20, 2019
You know what -- I chatted at Chatter and it was mediocre in the best way possible. Sometimes you want a non-pretentious, comfortable, Ruby Tuesday's basement to pray to Satan in. Seriously tho, what's not to LOVE? The Christmas tree is still up on January 19th -- extended holiday vibes make me feel good.

Wen there on a Sunday to watch some football. I was looking forward to checking it out as I knew Tony Kornheiser owned it and I enjoy his show. The place had a really comfortable vibe, a lot of TV's and a good menu.
Personable bartenders and the Chatter burger was not just great, it was memorable.
I wish I could have made it back the following night when Tony and Gary William were guest bartender.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 2892542788Mar 23, 2019
This was my first time in this venue. I ended up visiting via the DC Passport. I found an open seat at the bar and decided to post up there. It wasn't super busy in the restaurant but all the bar seats were taken by Maryland fans watching the game. I sat for 10 minutes without being served. It appears they were short staffed all around and they had a hard time keeping up with the customers. Finally 2 regular customers who were sitting next to me were able to get the bartender's attention and I was able to order. I had 2 champagne blisses which were pretty tasty. The service when I finally received it was very warm and friendly. I stayed less than an hour before I left and ventured elsewhere.
