Montgomery County, Maryland Department of Environmental Protection Division of Solid Waste Services 2019 Business Recycling Seminar: Expand Your Business Recycling Programs to the Next Level – Implement A Food Scraps Recycling Program Did you know that businesses and organizations in Montgomery County, MD generate more than half of all waste in the County, and a significant portion of the waste stream includes food scraps? The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Solid Waste Services (DSWS) estimates that the non-residential sector disposes of approximately 68,000 tons of food scraps annually. DSWS works with businesses and organizations providing technical assistance, education and training on implementing food scraps recycling programs to take recycling to the next level. At this seminar, you will: Learn how to increase your recycling efforts at your business by implementing a food scraps recycling program Engage with representatives from other businesses and organizations who have implemented successful food scraps recycling programs Learn how you can further reduce waste, reuse materials, and recycle more at your workplace Obtain educational materials, including posters, brochures, and labels to educate your employees and customers about your recycling program Get answers to your questions about waste reduction, reuse and recycling at your workplace When: Wednesday, June 19, 2019 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EDT Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Where: Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center 204 Boardwalk Place Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878 Parking is available on site.
