An Annual fundraiser, the MCAEL Grown-Up Spelling Bee is a One of a Kind Event in Montgomery County

An annual fundraiser, the MCAEL Grown-Up Spelling Bee is a one of a kind event in Montgomery County.

READY, SET, S-P-E-L-L!

Who: YOU!
The Bee brings community stakeholders together to celebrate our work and raise funds to continue the work of the coalition. Sponsorships and ticket sales for this event are critical to build a strong network of English classes for adults in Montgomery County.

What: Cocktail networking reception, a fun live “Spelling Bee” competition. Montgomery County corporations and organizations take the stage with their teams as each group takes a turn spelling a word. The team has 10 seconds to collaborate and then correctly spell the word. If a team fumbles, they are automatically eliminated. The event is very competitive and it’s all in good fun – most importantly teams are there to support the MCAEL network of providers and the adult learners they serve so that they too can master the English language.

Why: There are over 100,000 adults in Montgomery County who need and want English classes. Help us teach them!

When: Wednesday May 8, 2019

Where: Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center Takoma Park Campus - 7995 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910
