MCAEL GROWN UP SPELLING BEE TEAMS ANNOUNCED Rockville, MD – March 22, 2019 - The pressure is on for Montgomery College to remain the Spelling Bee Champion of the County when MCAEL hosts its Annual Grown-Up Spelling Bee fundraiser on May 8, 2019. MCAEL Executive Director, Kathy Stevens, “ESOL touches everyone in our community. A strong workforce, schools, and neighborhoods rests on a foundation of good English proficiency. This annual fundraiser and competition supports the MCAEL network of ESOL providers, teachers and learners. This year we are working on a strategic goal of increasing the number of adult learners we are serving from 15,000 adults to 21,000 adults in 2021. Your ticket purchase helps us toward that goal.” The Spelling Bee takes place Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in Takoma Park.
