Rockville, MD (February 4, 2019) On February 8, 2019, Leadership Montgomery (LM) will hold its Corporate Volunteer Awards Luncheon. The annual event recognizes local businesses for their support to the Montgomery County community through employee volunteer engagement. Members of the public were asked to nominate organizations and businesses in one of 6 award categories. Winners were selected by an independent committee consisting of local leaders and previous award winners. The 2019 award recipients are: Innovative Employee Volunteer Program-- Bar-T Enterprises; Evolving Employee Volunteer Program-- Shapiro & Duncan, Inc. ; Emerging Employee Volunteer Program-- Launch Workplaces; Sole Proprietor of the Year-- Quinter Design; Partnership of the Year-- NIH Federal Credit Union & Friends of Patients at the NIH; Well Workplace Award-- Dataprise This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Allison Solomon, Greater Washington Area Corporate Citizenship Manager for Deloitte. Ms. Solomon will share details about Deloitte’s efforts in the community and how their employee volunteer program has grown to an award-winning regional effort. “We are so proud to honor to these organizations that are making a difference through employee volunteerism.” said C. Marie Taylor, President & CEO of Leadership Montgomery. “We hope that by casting a spotlight on their tremendous efforts, more businesses will be inspired to engage their employees and give back to the local community through service.” Thanks in part to the event’s premier sponsor, The Emmes Corporation, Leadership Montgomery’s Corporate Volunteer Awards Luncheon will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 at The William F. Bolger Center in Potomac from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Serving as Mistress of Ceremonies for the event will be Marla Bilonick, Executive Director of the Latino Economic Development Center. Tickets are available; $90 for LM Members, $115 for nonmembers and can be purchased at www.leadershipmontgomerymd.org.
